Dinner and a movie...DELUXE!

Lissa and I celebrated our 8th anniversary with dinner and a movie--fancy pants style!

I took the day off so that we could drive down to Louisville to go see Superman Returns on an IMAX screen since our local IMAX theater seems to be slow to get IMAX DMR shows (if it ever gets them at all!). I wanted to see the movie. I wanted to see it on IMAX. I didn't want to wait months and run the risk of not getting the chance at all.

One of the regular theaters down in Louisville has an IMAX screen. Although it turns out that it's a 'small' IMAX screen. It's small for IMAX, but it's still reasonably large by most theater standards. So I didn't get the enormous 5+ story high screen (it was probably more like 1.5-2 stories), but the ultra high quality presentation level of IMAX was still present, so I was not disappointed.

After that, it was on to dinner at The Oakroom, the fancy 5-star restaurant we first went to on our 'mini-moon' after our wedding and one other time a couple years ago. It was excellent--as always! Unfortunately, I completely forgot to get our server to take our picture. But at least I got pictures of our desserts that they dressed up for the occasion.

On the left was my "Tasting of Strawberries" and on the right was Lissa's "Banana Split Creme Brulee." I wish I had thought to take pictures of our meals, too. Oh well, I guess that just give me a good excuse to go back! :)
