White Collar Resort Prison

Several people from my office and some of their significant others met up for the Summer Nights Film Series presentation of Office Space this past Friday.  Each summer the Indianapolis Museum of Art shows movies outdoors on a huge screen in view of grassy terraces.  People come out to picnic and party beginning in the late afternoon and then enjoy the movie once the sun goes down.

Office Space is considered mandatory viewing as part of our corporate culture.  We quote and reference the movie multiple times daily, so  failure to meet the mandatory viewing requirement results in desperate confusion and social isolation within the office...and who wants that?!

So when we heard that Office Space was one of the movies in the series this year, we definitely made a point to be a part of it!  A late work project and going to pickup lissarenee at home so that she could attend too put me at the museum at about 7pm.  Most of the others were already there at that point, but there were at least a couple that arrived later.

Everybody brought stuff to eat or drink.  John brought a ridiculously delicious 8 lbs of deli meat!  I brought sodas, but someone else brought beer.  Needless to say, I went home with lots of soda. :P  There were also other fruits, snacks, and desserts.

We had a good time hanging out, eating, and socializing while waiting for the movie to start.

Lissa gave me this goofy look...  It makes me laugh, but I'm not sure if I should be frightened or disturbed instead.

We had some excitement at one point when someone in the crowd passed out.  An ambulance and some other service vehicles came in response.

In this overview shot you can get an idea of the setup at the terraces.  You can also see the tiny space the ambulance had to get through off to the right of the screen.  It was really just barely wide enough for it get through.  We were taking bets as to whether any of the vehicles would rip a mirror off the side, but they all made it without incident.

The movie finally started up around 8:30 or so.  Here's a shot of what it looks like against the night sky.  It's really a pretty fun way to watch a movie.
