Well, we made it.  The trip out was a bit more of a challenge...of course, given the course and nature of the day up to the departure.

We finally "left town" at about 7:40 pm...obviously much later than any of our previous plans.  We began our journey from Castleton Mall, site of my last errand that had been postponed from earlier in the day due to crazified unexpected events.
So off we went.  The drive was largely uneventful until we hit Nashville, TN.  We were about 40 miles past one of our directions when it occured to me that we were perhaps not going the right way.

It turned out that my intuition was correct and we ended up having to backtrack to Nashville to get back on track.  That probably cost us 45 minutes to an hour.

We finally arrived at our hotel around 5:30 am...6:30 Atlanta time.  So the drive was over 9 hours, all of which I drove.  I've been awake over 24 hours now.  I was surprisingly fine the whole drive except for about half an hour just before we arrived where I was desperately fighting sleep.

We decided to just come down and get our badges instead of going to bed.  We're waiting in a rather small group of people waiting for registration to open at 9.

That's in about 40 minutes.  I'm updating to pass the time and keep my brain busy to stay awake.  Hooray for GPRS!

I'm going to quit for now to avoid thumb cramps from this thumb keyboard.  More to follow later...
