On Tuesday I received my Ransai pop'n music controller and a new third-party Guitar Freaks controller. The Ransai had actually come on Monday, but I was not home to receive it. Lissa picked it up at the post office for me.
Of course Widget had to come check out the new boxes. He likely doesn't care about their contents.
Out of the box...there it is! Oh rapture!
the included letter, extra decal, and rubber feet
in all its glory...
I haven't had a chance to update since these came in. On that first night, I was playing pop'n...A LOT! That game is sooo addicitive. I really enjoy it.
It has the gameplay elements of IIDX (which I like) but without such a steep learning curve. Although it can still get plenty hard, so I've got plenty of room to grow. It blends this with the DDR-like physicality of moving entire limbs to hit buttons on a large scale. It's very satisfying and envigorating. Finally, I also like the variety of music in the game. It seems much more diverse than most other Bemani I've played.
I still have yet to open the guitar controller. I had one before that had broken, so this is just a replacement. Although even if that were not the case, I doubt GF would be much competition for my attention over pop'n.
